Danks Street Festival, 26 October 2008.

Danks Street Festival was huge this year. Double the size of last year. We even got a free ride there from Redfern station, thanks to a free mini-bus service.

They opened up this undercover car parking area for the first time and filled it with designer stores.

Fanning out... Kate Bezar was there promoting her magazine Dumbo Feather,Pass it On. One of the best magazines in the world. It always brings clarity into my life whenever I read it.

I brought the issue featuring John Warwicker one of my favourite designers.

Security was tight this year.

Then to China Heights to see Trent Whitehead's show. Even though I saw it when I was in Melbourne.

Shooting the breeze with Mark.

Photographer Smurf. I've been searching for this Smurf for years. I was watching Collectors once and someone had said there was a Photographer Smurf but it was ultra rare. I was skeptical because I was sure I had seen many before. Sure enough I spent the next few years looking for one in every market, antique and toy store. I must have seen every type of Smurf but unbelievably, never the Photographer Smurf. I told my brother I was really after the Photographer Smurf when I purchase the Mickey Mouse photographer figurine (see previous post). Then a week later he surprised me with this. He had found it on Ebay.
