College of Fine Arts Annual, 26 November 2008.

This is the first chance I had to go wondering with my new Canon G10.

I know these images don't really show it, but the quality of these images at full resolution are so much better then my Ixus 700.

This is the G10 at full stretch (120mm). I was suprised at how fast it focused. I've always wanted a M6 for street photography but this is probably just as good. 14.7 mega pixels with full shutter and aperture control in a compact camera body. This is what I've been waiting for for years.

Not many people know about this place. It's one of those hidden gems at the AGNSW. The AGNSW library.

This is why it's a gem. All the books you see here are on photography alone.

Worth a mint on Ebay, one of my favorite books. Camera Works by David Hockney. Hugely influential to me when I was studying photography.

Someone collaped in front of my old photo lab. I don't process my films there anymore. The quality of their prints from film have slipped since the popularity of digital.

The G10 has a big enough screen that I can shoot from the hip. Though I still prefer to shoot looking through a view finder. My only complaint with the G10 is the composition seen through the view finder does not come close to matching the final image. A common range finder complaint.

Urban Uprising had a Shepard Fairley and Banksy show. These were selling for $1,500 each. I brought mine for $60 a few years ago.

Banksy

Made my way to the COFA annual show.

Here's a detail.

Jxe agreed.

If Sarah Eddowes isn't already a star, she will be.

Another favorite from the show, James Lyle, Father and Son.

Douglas.

Woofie.

A lot of people were standing around Daniel Kirkwood D.C City, Glistening trying to work out how it's done.

This was my favorite. Alex Kiers' Planorama. You're starring down a runway. Every couple of minutes a plane slowly approaches the horizon. As the plane comes closer the engine noise becomes louder until it flies, at close range, from the font screen, directly over your head on the top screen, and lands in the screen directly behind you. It's a rush. I waited for planes to land three times. Twice with Jxe. Fair dinkum.
