Ai Weiwei, Campbelltown Art Gallery, 16 May 2008. |
![]() On my way to Campbelltown Art Gallery to see part 2 of Ai Weiwei's show. I decided to stop off at Casula Powerhouse. |
![]() This is my favourite art space at Casula. |
![]() I met David Griggs at Casula Powerhouse years ago. Good to see his work showing there again. This is part of the exhibition, Australia. |
![]() That painting is as high as my roof. |
![]() The back looks even nicer. |
![]() I'm not sure what Filipino gangs have to do with Australia, but David's video of 15 odd gang members passing a ciggy around as a lighter was my favourite artwork in the show. |
![]() New video work by Shaun Gladwell. We grew up in the same neighbourhood. |
![]() Gladwell's Graff technique is terrible. I like the jump ramp display of all the household items used in his graffiti. |
![]() That's gold. |
![]() Atomic in Full Sunlight by Nike Savvas. An exploding painting. |
![]() Vaccum Painting by Stephen Little. The opposite of Savvas's work. Little scatters dryed paint on the ground then uses the vaccum to suck up the pieces. The vaccum is the canvas. They describe this as reverse painting. I would be more impressed if Little melted the paint into a liquid and squeezed it back into a jar. |

![]() Those chandeliers are really swinging. I feel like I'm on Titanic. |
![]() Finally made it to Campbelltown Art Gallery. That log is from the Qing Dynasty. |
![]() Ai Weiwei. |

![]() A tonne of tea. |
![]() Painted wooded scraps from the Qing Dynasty. I like these sculptures they have a nice simplicity and form to them. |
![]() Reflections. Fair dinkum. |
